In addition to the 5 million pixel image resolution, the Coolpix 5000 boasts a 3 x , 28-85mm (35mm equivalent) Nikkor zoom lens which incorporates three aspherical lens elements, ensuring high resolution, distortion-free pictures.
This latest Coolpix offers incredibly fast speeds in startup, autofocus and zoom operation, with a shutter delay short enough to rival SLR digital competitors. In fact has the specification and features that you would expect to find on digital SLRs, but in a very compact and lightweight design. The dimensions of the Coolpix 5000 are 101.5 x 81.5 x 67.5mm. The camera won't be available in the UK until January and is expected to have a rrp of around £1,000.
